Disciplines

BoG’Arts is a dance company founded in 2009 (Abidjan/Brussels), by Hippolyte Bohouo. Driven by the urgency and necessity of a voice imbued with social and political commitment, its powerful and sensitive creations explore subjects related to human and societal issues. They provide a space for dialogue with the audience. The creation also concerns the audience.

His approach relates the need for movement of a body that launches into a space it devours, invades, shapes and the necessity to carry a voice.

For Hippolyte, movement is a revealer of deep feelings and emotions. To express the subjects that touch him personally, without any need for didactic utility, his dance, alive and explosive, draws from his inner self and expresses the essence of who he is, what he goes through as a human being, sensitive, with his fragilities and some of his inconsistencies. His voice, on the other hand, is meant to be committed.
