SITTING DUCK
Disciplines
Sitting Duck is a Belgian company founded in 2016, born from the collaboration between Gonzalo Alarcón and Joris Verbeeren. After a long journey in the circus and street arts sector on their own, their human and artistic encounter was the starting point of a rich and inspiring raw material for common projects.
The company's primary vocation is the creation, promotion and dissemination of theater and circus in public space. It is part of a multidisciplinary artistic approach, where dialogue between different practices becomes a real engine of creation. Feats, physical theater, clown play, juggling, object manipulation and the quest for impossible tricks are all central elements in the company's work.
Their first creation, Chiringuito Paradise, has been performed over 200 times in 11 countries, propelling Sitting Duck onto the international stage.
With La Dyane, Sitting Duck wanted to expand the troupe and explore new collective creative dynamics. The project brings together actors and circus artists Andrea Bettaglio and Nicoló Antioco Ximenes, as well as multidisciplinary artist Marije Nie. The staging was entrusted to Christine Rossignol-Dallaire.
